So here we go… I decided to move from Windows Mobile to Android. I'm going to leave a set of well known apps for the unknown and that's something I want to plan. I'll report my findings here so let's start with my favorites.
I've been fighting for a few days trying to connect my HTC pro through my desktop's internet connect on Windows Vista. My mobile had no problems connecting to Windows Mobile Device Center but I couldn't access the internet.
The solution is to add a reg key to Vista:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services] "AllowLSP"=dword:00000000
With this entry and after a restart everything was fine.

Opera Mobile comes with a browser and with a tool called “widgets”, small applications/tools like the ones we know from google gadgets or KDE4.
ezInput 2.0 is an optimized version of the soft keyboards that we know from the HTC Touch Pro. The cab was extracted from the HTC Touch Pro 2 ROM: http://mylostblog.altervista.org/software/freeware/per-htc/htc-freeware-htc-keyboard-ezinput-20
While browsing for new skins for phonealarm I bumped into a nice tool called S2U2. It's a nice screen saver with an iPhone unlock slider and many configuration options like caller-id, password lock, changing background pics. It's an eye catcher and a nice digital picture frame.
